I had a heck of a scare Wednesday! My little girl fainted for the first time. No one in my family has ever fainted before and I was scared like crazy. I get CPR certified every two years and am always afraid that I will forget everything I've learned and panic. Well, never having seen anyone faint before is one thing, but having it happen to your child. I didn't exactly panic, but my thought was, I'm in a doctor's office so a doctor or a nurse should help me out. So what did I do? Yelled, "someone help her". I take this training every year so I can keep my family safe and try to help the best I can~but I panicked! It happened very quickly and she came right out of it, but this is my baby and I was so scared for her. I probably scared her even more! The nurse asked her if she knew what the date was and she answered without hesitation! The nurse, receptionist and I all kidded that we didn't even know the date!
And this is what she would do if she knew I was telling you this story.
So I had asked the nurse if she could play field hockey b/c she had a game later that day. The nurse said she would be ok to play. I had to cover all basis, however when we got in the car Alyssa told me she didn't want to play. I know exactly how she felt. She probably thought if she fainted again on the field, she would be mortified!! And I can't blame her! Nevertheless, I didn't take my eyes off of her the rest of the night. I love you to pieces Alyssa!
I'm sure you handled it just fine - scared as heck afterwards but remained in control I'm sure!
